Come and celebrate the Von Braun Astronomical Society's 70th 'birthday'!
Our society was registered as the non profit Rocket City Astronomical Association in June of 1955.
This event at the beautiful Monte Sano Lodge in Monte Sano State Park will start with a social hour and silent auction surrounded by photos and achievements from our history, followed by an elegant buffet with salad, entrees and dessert. The program will include reminiscences, remarks, recognitions, awards, and more. If the skies are clear, we will set up a couple of telescopes!
Dress is festive - astronomically themed attire, or smart business/cocktail.

The following day is the VBAS Astronomy Day - our annual free celebration of astronomy. If you're coming from out of town, stay the weekend and experience the public outreach that makes our society so special! Glamping and RV sites available next door to our observatory - book through the State Park.
